A REPAIR cafe in Spencers Wood is open this weekend, ready to look at broken items brought in by residents.
Billie Bachra, who organises the group, said: “There are so many things we can help mend.
“Have you checked out your lawn mower yet, or your garden tools?
“Do they need sharpening?
“We can help with that.”
Menders at the repair cafe can also help restore battered suitcases with wheels that won’t turn, and can turn up (or down) trousers that need altering.
Broken bikes can also be looked at, along with jewellery, vacuum cleaners, laptops and other household items.
“Our very skilled and friendly volunteer team are giving up their Sunday morning to help fix your household items so that together we can reduce landfill,” said Billie.
“And we have a cafe too.
“There’s no need to book, and we encourage people to take part in the repair if they wish.
“We don’t charge, but donations are very gratefully accepted.”
The Repair Cafe at Lambs Lane Primary School, Spencers Wood, is open this Sunday, March16, from 10 am until 1pm.
