Long queues are expected when tickets for the 25th Wargrave Festival go on sale on Saturday morning.
Previous years saw residents camp out overnight to get their choice of seats at what has become a highlight of the community since the first event took place in 1975.
This year’s theme is ‘Gold Fever’, and it is a golden anniversary celebrating all that makes up the community.
This year’s 19-day festival will feature a host of fun-filled family delights, dazzling formal events, spirited theatre, musical performances and roving culinary delights.
It will honour the Olympic year with many sporting events, and will bring the community together for the wonderfully riotous Wargrave’s Got Talent show, as well as the traditional Wargrave Village Parade through the village and down to the Village Fete.
Other highlights will include Wargrave Theatre’s performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Wargrave Mill Green
The Wargrave Boating Club and Wargrave and Shiplake Regatta will also be hosting a River Rhythms silent disco
Wargrave’s biggest ever dinner party is also planned in the shape of a ‘safari supper’.
Following a sell-out first year, Pub On The Green is also returning to mark the opening night of the marquee, and to start the Festival party with a bang.
Former Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Theresa May, will also be part of the popular Literary Festival.
Tickets will go on sale at the scout hut on Recreation Road from 9am on Saturday, with online ticket sales starting the following day.
