Tickets are now on sale for one of the highlights of Wokingham’s events calendar.
Super early bird tickets have been released for the Wokingham Festival 2024, which is set to take place at Cantley Park over the August bank holiday weekend.
The line-up for the family‐friendly festival, which champions quality music and showcases local bands, has also been released.
More than 40 artists are set to appear at the event, which also features food, liquid refreshments, stalls and entertainment for younger members of the family.
To reward regular supporters, this year there is an extra tier of ticket prices, with a limited number of ‘Super Early Bird’ tickets which went on sale earlier this month.
The event, which runs from Saturday, August 24, until Monday, August 26, features two stages which alternate, so there is music on offer throughout the day.
The headliners on the main Trademark Windows stage are the psychedelic rock band Ozric Tentacles, local indie rockers Rila’s Edge, stepping up after a storming set headlining the
second stage last year, and top‐quality tribute band Totally Blondie.
Other acts include That Joe Payne (with full band), The Room, prog‐folk pagan rockers Spriggan Mist, Trim, and Country Chicks, and more.
Finchampstead’s own Gareth Ainsworth, the former Wycombe Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers manager, will also be appearing with his band, The Cold Blooded Hearts.
On the Wokingham Music Club stage, the bill‐toppers are Sonic Whip from the Netherlands , festival favourites and foot‐stomping Celtic psy‐folk purveyors Flutatious, and indie star and TikTok sensation Áine Deane.
Other acts featuring over the weekend will include Sour Kix, Adomania, Mackenzie, San Demas, and Storm Deva.
The second stage marquee also hosts a very popular silent disco after the last act on the Saturday and Sunday nights.
Dean Nelson, festival director said “It’s been great to see the reputation of the festival grow as we have upgraded the second stage to accommodate more bands and promote exciting local original artists.
“We have also added a third, prog‐rock themed, day which has also been a great success.”
