A tree is currently blocking the railway line between Wokingham and Bracknell. It is thought to have hit a train – but this has been unconfirmed.
It is not expected to be cleared until at least 8am, causing chaos for commuters on this wet morning.
South West Trains have said: “A Tree has fallen on the tracks in the Wokingham area, blocking both lines. Great Western Railway and London Underground are accepting South West Trains tickets.
“We are trying to arrange buses but we are unable to source any at present. Taxis are being arranged locally.”
Although it’s not clear what exactly has happened, some Twitter users are suggesting that a train had hit the tree. This has not been confirmed.
@getreading My train just hit a tree in to the path of train on other side of tracks, both stopped b/w #Woky & #Bracknell. #rdguk #rdgnews
