A WOKINGHAM teenager has died while on a holiday to the Costa Brava.
Luke Freeman was visiting the Lloret de Mar resort with friends, and it is believed that he fell from a fifth storey balcony around 6.20am on Tuesday, July 2.
The 19-year-old was at the Apartmentos Trimar.
National newspapers report that his friends were questioned by police and that Luke’s death is thought to have been an accident.
The Daily Mail reported that a spokesperson for the Mossos d’Esquadra force said: “I can confirm a British man has died after falling from a fifth-floor balcony in Lloret de Mar. He was on holiday and was staying at the tourist apartment where the incident happened.”
And a Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesperson said: “We are assisting the family of a British man who died in Lloret de Mar and are in contact with the Spanish police.”
The apartments were constructed in 2009, close to the Parochial Rectory. They are 10 minutes walk away from the town centre and close to the sea. Facilities include a sunbathing terrace and outdoor pool.
Tributes are being paid to Luke on social media by his friends.
