This was a Lib Dem gain in 2019, giving the party another seat in the council chamber. Adrian Mather is standing again and will be hoping for a similar result.
The Women’s Equality Party’s Louise Timlin is standing again, as is Labour’s Tim Lloyd, but there is no independent candidate this time round.

The candidates
Martin Jeater, Conservative

I’ve lived in the area since 1964, attending Crosfields and then Forest Grammar School before going to Bath University gaining a BSc in Business Administration and later becoming a Chartered Accountant with PwC.
The majority of my career has been in various finance roles in the IT sector retiring seven years ago when I have since been actively involved in Wokingham Volunteer Centre and Wokingham Men’s Shed charities.
I’m standing for election motivated by the shocking decisions of the Lib Dem/Labour coalition currently ruling our borough council. The coalition-run council is offering less for more – cutting services like weekly bin collections and charging far more for parking.
Talking to local residents, I know many share my concerns about the state of the roads. If elected, I’d ensure that we had our fair share of roads resurfaced here and would get the many potholes fixed. The Coalition Council has cut the budget in real terms for road maintenance, but a Conservative Council would increase the budget to look after roads and pavements.
The Conservative regeneration plan delivered a fantastic, vibrant new town centre and the Carnival Leisure Centre. I want to ensure Wokingham continues to thrive!
As your elected councillor I will: listen and do my best to resolve your concerns, stop planning by appeal, re-establish weekly bin collections, and stop the car parking charges increases.
Timothy Lloyd, Labour

Adrian Mather, Lib Dem

It was an honour to be elected as your local councillor in 2019, since when I’ve been able to help many residents with their problems or concerns.
It’s a privilege to work with my Lib Dem colleagues on Wokingham Borough Council where I’m chair of the Health Scrutiny Committee – we work hard to make Wokingham a better place to live and work.
I’m actively involved in the community when time away from my professional role with a global technology company allows, including as a governor at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
Lou Timlin, Women’s Equality
