A SUMMER fair in Wokingham was blessed with sunshine at the weekend
The event, held at Wade Day Centre, is an annual family fun day that raises money to support older people in the borough.
Sue English from Wade, said: “After a bit of early cloud, we enjoyed glorious sunshine at the Wade Summer Fair.
“The weather was very kind to us, and there was a lovely atmosphere, with quite a number of visitors.”
Attractions included traditional fairground activities such as getting the pingpong ball in a jar, hamper raffles, tombolas and children’s face painting, and stalls selling a range of items including jewellery, nearly new items, and home made crafts.
“I was helping to run the plant store, which turned out to be very popular,” Ms English continued.
“It was so busy I didn’t get a chance to visit the other stalls.”
Outside people were able to enjoy a barbecue and music from Wokingham ukulele band, No Strings Attached.
“And there were World War II jeeps for people to sit in and take photos,” added Ms English.”
“And of course, plenty of tea and cake to enjoy.”
The Wade Day Centre committee thanks everyone who came to the event on Saturday, with special mention to The Wheelwright Arms, Zappas, and Tesco Wokingham for kindly donating raffle prizes.
The Wade Day Centre provides support for older people in the borough, with home cooked lunches, activities, services, and a friendly environment in which to socialise.
Funds from the fair will help to support the charity’s mission to support senior borough residents.
