Hundreds of people ushered in the year of the snake, and celebrated the lunar new year in Wokingham last Sunday.
They witnessed the traditional lion dance and sampled a variety of Asian food.
Cllr Barrie Callender, chair of the arts and culture committee at Wokingham town council, told Wokingham Today: “Many thanks to all for joining us at the Lunar New Year celebrations in Wokingham town centre on Sunday.
“We particularly want to thank all of the organisations and volunteers from our local community who joined us to share cultural traditions, arts and crafts, and music and dance to celebrate the year of the snake.
“We hope you enjoyed learning about Chinese calligraphy and singing in Cantonese.
“May the Lion have chased away the evil spirits, and bring you all good fortune this year.”
