IT’S a sweet job in anyone’s book.
A leading chocolate company is looking for people in Wokingham to become tasters for its new brands.
The tongue tingling offer involves spending eight hours a day drinking cocoa drinks and eating various chocolate products.
And to sweeten the deal, the lucky people picked for the new role which is based in Wokingham, will be paid £10.75 an hour.
Mondelez International produces brands including Cadbury, Oreo and Green and Blacks and is offering chocoholics the chance to taste new products before they hit shop shelves in over 150 countries.
The successful candidates will work as part of a 12-strong team and will need to be able to differentiate the many subtle differences between different chocolate flavours.
Tracy Streams from Charvil who works as a Chocolate Panellist at the company’s Wokingham site, recently taste tested Green and Black’s new Milk Chocolate Pralines.
She said: “I really love my job, it suits my lifestyle and all my friends are naturally quite envious.
“I really look forward to the sessions, there is a lot more to being a Chocolate Taster than you might think, we have to identify really slight differences in smell, texture and even how the chocolate feels in your mouth.”
Tracy’s top tips for anyone thinking of applying for the new roles include being passionate about the world of chocolate, having a love of food and an openness to many flavours is a bonus.
She added: “You have to be surprisingly disciplined – we can’t eat for a few hours before each session.”
Last year a similar testing job at Mondelez International became one of the most viewed adverts on LinkedIn, with 6,000 people applying from as far afield as Australia and the United States.
