Wokingham Today, in association with Wokingham Borough Council, is delighted to announce a new annual event dedicated to celebrating the great and good of our fabulous Borough.
On Wednesday, November 8, we will be honouring the amazing work done by individuals, groups and local businesses at the fabulous All Saints Church in Wokingham town.
The evening promises to showcase some amazing stories of just what a difference people can make in our local community.
Wokingham Today editor and judge Phil Creighton said: “With communities coming together during the tough times that we have all had over the last few years, it is nice for people to be nominated for going above and beyond to help in their local communities.
“We know there are so many people, groups and businesses who deserve some recognition for their efforts.
“Wokingham is one of the best places in the country to live, and one of the main reasons is the people who live and work here. So here is an opportunity to celebrate everything that’s good about our borough.
“We can’t wait to see who you nominate.”
There are several categories aimed at shining a spotlight on many aspects of our borough, from Remenham and Ruscombe in the north to Crowthorne, Finchampstead and Shinfield in the south.
If you know someone who fits one of the awards, make sure you put them forward.
There is no charge to nominate, and we’ll feature some of the nominations in the run-up to the ceremony.
All nominations, groups, individuals or businesses must be located within the Wokingham Borough.
To enter is simple … all you need to do is either write to Wokingham Community Awards, Wokingham Today, Crown House, 231 Kings Road, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 4LS or email us at: [email protected], explaining why you think the person you are nominating deserves to be the winner.
Our judging panel will then meet to devise a shortlist. Those on it will be notified before the awards night so they can attend and enjoy celebrating the great and good of Wokingham Borough.
We look forward to hearing your amazing stories and keep reading Wokingham Today in print or online to hear more about the awards including meeting the judges and hosts.
