We are looking for a local business who has committed to improving the local community in a positive way

The Wokingham Community Awards couldn’t exist without support from some brilliant companies. The Community Project of the year is sponsored by Wokingham Positive Difference.
Wokingham Positive Difference is a networking forum for business leaders to meet, share insights, and do business.
It was founded in 2016, with the aim of bringing three forces together – business, local government, and the voluntary sector – for the development of greater opportunities for businesses and charities in the wider Thames Valley area.
Working in a borough which has powerful business potential, and benefits from strong voluntary support, members have access to local leaders from all sectors, business, community, and local government, increasing networks and reach. They understand that by working together, they can achieve more for themselves and the people and values they care about.
The group’s focus is on collaboration and contribution to achieve sustainable, ethical, and successful outcomes for participants, looking to make a positive difference in their world. It meets at Wokingham Town Hall, usually on the third Friday of each month (8am-9.30am), and visitors are always welcome.
The annual programme tackles business issues and trending topics in a fast-moving world, offering an assortment of opportunities to hear from and work with our peers across the community.
Founder and Chairman, Graeme Hobbs, says: “I am delighted to have been asked to act as Master of Ceremonies for the Inaugural Wokingham Community Awards, having enjoyed support from Phil Creighton and his team over the years.
“It is the inspiration we get from genuine people like Phil that drives us forward to do our bit too. In sponsoring the community business of the year award, we are excited to hear how ingenious values-based leaders and their teams are working to build a better world.
“Alongside the Wokingham Community Vision Group, we are working to help ‘Team Wokingham’ to achieve its full potential. Recognising talent and contribution is one step on the path.”
