WOKINGHAM Fireworks Charitable Trust has announced that tickets for its Annual Wokingham Fireworks Extravaganza are now on sale.
The popular family-friendly fundraising event is renowned for impressive pyrotechnic fireworks carefully choreographed to music.
The evening begins with an atmospheric torchlit procession led by St Sebastian’s Band, and features a fairground, along with a wide variety of food outlets.
Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Samaritans are among the charities supported by the event this year, as is Soulscape, which focuses on young people’s mental health.
Also supported this year is Babies in Buscot Support, for babies and their families in the special care baby unit at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
Chair of the Wokingham Fireworks Charity David Gold thanks Wokingham residents for supporting the community event, from which all the money raised is donated to local charities and deserving causes.
Members of Easthampstead Rotary Club, Windsor Forest Unicorn Club, Wokingham Lions Club, and Wokingham Rotary Club, all work together to help deliver the event.
All four organisations are open to new members, and the Wokingham Fireworks Charitable Trust actively seeks a further 90 volunteers to help make sure that this year’s fireworks display reaches its usual high standard.
The spectacular event will take place at Cantley Park on Saturday, November 1.
The procession begins at 6.15pm from Wokingham Town Hall, with the funfair open at Cantley Field from 5.30pm.
Entry is by ticket only, costing £10 for adults, or £1 for children aged seven or younger.
