A 22-year-old man from Wokingham has been jailed for a series of sexual offences, including rape, following an investigation by Thames Valley Police.
Brandon Brenner, of Honey Hill, was sentenced to ten years and eight months in prison at Reading Crown Court on Friday, 28 November.
It follows an eight-day trial at the same court, which concluded on 11 August.
The jury found Brenner guilty of two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. He had already admitted three counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
He was acquitted of two further counts of rape and one count of sexual assault by unanimous verdict relating to the same victim, offences alleged to have taken place between 28 November and 2 December last year.
Police said that between 14 and 17 November 2023, Brenner posed online as a fictitious female character to befriend a 17-year-old girl and persuaded her to meet him at a hotel in Wokingham.
Brenner was arrested on 5 February and charged three days later.
Detective Constable Helen Lord, who led the investigation, praised the victim for her “immense bravery” and said the conviction reflected the force’s commitment to tackling sexual violence.
“This result is the product of the hard work of dozens of police officers and staff, alongside colleagues from the Crown Prosecution Service,” she said. “We will continue to support victims and work relentlessly against those who commit violence against women and girls.”
