There will be road closures and traffic diversions in Wokingham town centre on Sunday as a result of the Winter Carnival.
Some roads will be shut completely while others will be one-way only. The closures are all day – from 6am through to 7.30pm.
The closures are to enable the Winter Carnival stalls and fun fair to be set up and packed away as well as making Broad Street, Denmark Street and Peach Street safe to pedestrians visiting the event.
The day includes a carnival procession from Shute End at 4pm, which will further add to the traffic changes.
The Closed roads
- A329 Peach Street/Broad Street between its junctions with Easthampstead Road and Rectory Road
- A321 Market Place/Denmark Street between its junctions with A329 Peach Street and Denmark Street car park
- Rose Street between its junctions with Rose Street car park and A329 Broad Street
- Luckley Path between its junctions with Denton Road and A329 Peach Street
One-way roads
- Langborough Road from its junction with Denmark Street to its junction with Crescent Road – east to west
- Easthampstead Road from the entrance to Easthampstead car park eastwards to its junction with A329 Peach Street – north west to south east
Diversion signs will be in place, with a separate route for HGVs. Access for emergency services will be maintained throughout.
During the carnival procession, which this year takes its theme as Best of British, there may be additional delays along Shute End, Rectory Road, Wiltshire Road, Wellington Road and Station Road.
