THE new leisure centre in Wokingham town centre was evacuated this evening, Tuesday, July 26, on its second day of hosting customers.
A fire alarm at the multi-million pound Carnival Hub site left many visitors standing at a meeting point in Elms Field in their swimming costumes.
Wokingham.Today understands it was a false alarm and all visitors were evacuated in line with the site’s fire safety procedures.
The new hub officially opened its doors to customers on Monday, July 25, and features swimming pools, children’s splash pad, a health suite, 120-piece fitness suite, fitness studios including group cycling studio, a café and a dual-purpose hall for sports.
