Wokingham borough council has said it is about to finish building the first section of the active travel route from Woodley to Reading, so the road closure points along the route are changing.
At the moment, Woodlands Avenue in Woodley is shut and diverted between Lytham Road and Roslyn Road, with access for residents only.
From Monday, March 16, that section will reopen and the closure will move further west along Woodlands Avenue, between Roslyn Road and Woodwaye.
The Woodlands Avenue works will run until mid-August, with additional works expected on Church Road and Culver Lane from this summer.
The finished route, which includes cycle tracks separated from both the pavement and the road, will link Woodley town centre with Palmer Park in Reading.
It’s part of the council’s long-term ambition to improve walking and cycling connections across the borough and the works are being funded by the Department for Transport.
