CIRCUS skills and snake handling for children, and lots of useful information for their families, were provided by a group called SEND Voices Wokingham at the weekend.
This parent carer forum, in partnership with Wokingham Borough Council, hosted an event called Local Offer Live.
Held at the St Crispin’s Leisure Centre, the event was open to anyone living in the borough who has a child or young person aged from zero to 25 years, with any special educational need or disability (SEND), including those waiting for a diagnosis.
Information stalls enabled parents and carers to find out what support is available to them, and which local services and activities can help families who have a child with SEND.
Representatives from Wokingham Borough Council were also on hand to answer questions.
And while parents were busy gathering information, their children were being entertained with fun activities provided by Berkshire Reptile Encounters, face painters, and Circus Scene.
Youngsters enjoyed getting up close with friendly snakes, getting their faces painted, and learning to spin plates with a circus performer.
The day out was completed with tea, coffee, squash and cake..
