Three goals in the opening 14 minutes from Mikey O’Connor saw Wokingham Town grab a vital three points on Tuesday night.
Town won 3-2 at Berks County in what was an equally vital game for the hosts in their own battle to avoid relegation from the Combined Counties Premier Division North.
They travel to bottom side Wembley on Saturday knowing a win will go a long way towards avoiding the drop ahead of next Wednesday’s local derby against Reading City at Lowther Road (kick-off 7.45pm).
The Citizens moved into tenth spot, recording their fourth win in five games with a 1-0 home victory over Edgware and Kingsbury.

In the Southern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division, Reading FC Women lost 1-6 at Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night, while Woodley United suffered a 0-2 defeat on the road at AFC Porchester.
The two teams meet on Sunday afternoon at Bulmershe, kick-off at 2pm.
Wokingham Town Ladies, playing their final home game of the season in Division Three South of the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League, put in another spirited performance then ended without reward – with a 1-3 defeat to Brook House.
In Division One, Finchampstead remain third with a 0-2 win at Ruislup Ladies, with Ashridge Park in fifth after a convincing 0-5 win at Goring United.
In Division Two, AFC Caversham remained top following a 2-1 win over Denham United Reserves.
