A BOROUGH charity is in urgent need of new premises.
Keep Mobile, a charity that provides reliable and accessible transport to vulnerable residents of Wokingham and Bracknell Forest boroughs, needs help to find a permanent home, and is reaching out to anyone who may be able to assist them.
Their current temporary home has been provided by Andrew at Riverways Farm, New Bath Road, Twyford, and the charity is very grateful to him for the generous help and support he has shown them during their time there.
But recent planning permission has been granted for the site, and the group is now desperate in need of new premises.
Keep Mobile was previously forced to relocate following the passing of its founder, and the charity is now once again searching for an affordable location that meets its operational needs.
Manager Sally Gibson said: “We are committed to continuing our support for the local community, but without a stable base, our ability to operate is at risk.
“We’re reaching out to anyone who may be able to help us find a new home so we can carry on providing these essential services.”
Despite actively searching for a suitable space, the organisation faces significant financial barriers, with a recent prospect requiring a commercial rent of £18,000 per month—an amount well beyond its budget.
To continue its vital work, the charity needs:
Hardstanding space for 11 minibuses and staff vehicles.
Office space, including a main office and three additional offices for management, book keeping, and IT.
A large room for meetings and training sessions.
Storage for bus parts, equipment, and seats.
A wash station and a designated area for a mechanic to maintain the buses.
Keep Mobile is appealing to local businesses, property owners, and the wider community for help to identify a suitable, affordable location that can serve as its long-term home.
They are open to discussions regarding potential sites, leasing opportunities, or partnerships that could help secure a sustainable future for the charity.
Anyone who may be able to assist is asked to email sally Gibson at: [email protected] or to call: 03455440850.
