Opuz, a family-run Turkish restaurant, was officially opened by Wokingham borough mayor, Cllr Carol Jewell, on Monday.
The operator signed a lease for the unit in Elms Walk with Wokingham Borough Council in autumn last year.
It is run by Ibrahim and his son Gokhan, who already have three other successful Opuz restaurants in Aylesbury, Hemel Hampstead and Watford.
Their Watford restaurant has recently been hailed the best restaurant in town by locals.
Opuz is a modern Turkish restaurant and bar, offering relaxed and sophisticated all-day dining.
From modern Turkish cuisine to Mediterranean classics and fantastic vegan and vegetarian dishes, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The opening evening featured a live DJ, mesmerising belly dancers and a breathtaking fire show, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for all who attended.
Cllr Jewel said: “I’m delighted to welcome Opuz to Wokingham.
“The new Turkish restaurant and bar is an excellent addition to our town centre offering and will help to build and maintain great communities.
“I’ve enjoyed meeting and chatting to Ibrahim and Gokhan, staff members and restaurant diners.
“There’s so many wonderful traditional and modern dishes to choose from, residents will be spoiled for choice.
“I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to Ibrahim and his team for their hospitality, and wish Opuz the very best economic success.”
Owner of Opuz, Ibrahim Opuz, said: “With over 25 years of experience, we’re excited to bring the finest Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine to Wokingham.
“We’re proud to bring a level of service and décor that rivals the best of central London.
“All our food is prepared fresh daily and cooked to order over real charcoal flames.
“It’s all about quality, authenticity, and creating a memorable dining experience.”
