A limited edition ale has been created to mark next month’s 80th anniversary of VE Day – and will only be on sale in Wokingham for one day.
Brewed by Elusive Brewing in Finchampstead, the pale ale called Peacetime will be sold to raise money for the British Legion on Thursday, May 8, as part of Wokingham’s efforts to mark the important occasion.
Just 240 cans will be produced, with 50p from every sale donated to the charity.
Andy Parker of Elusive Brewing told Wokingham Today: “The pale ale is being specially created for the event using British and American hops, and will have notes of citrus.”
The British Legion will also be selling VE Day pin badges, and hosting collections at town centre supermarkets.
David Dunham, Wokingham’s poppy appeal organiser, added: “I’d like to thank everyone involved in our VE Day commemorations in Wokingham.
”We will be revealing more details about our event in the coming weeks.”
