A WOKINGHAM church warmly welcomed its new rector last week.
The Revd Hannah Higginson was officially installed at a Collation and Induction Service at All Saints church, led by the bishop of Reading Revd Olivia Graham.
Hannah said: “I am really excited to be taking on the role of rector at All Saints.
“This is a church that is reaching out into the community and working hard to welcome everybody in.
“We have an inspiring vision and are excited for all that God has in store in the coming years.”
Hannah is already a familiar face in Wokingham, having worked at All Saints as associate priest for five years.
“I have got to know the community well, in that time,” she said.
Keen to continue building relationships, she invites people to visit the church.
“Please come and say hello and if you haven’t dropped in since its reopening last year,” she said.

Representatives from other faith groups, Wokingham borough mayor Cllr Adrian Mather, Wokingham town Mayor Cllr Robert Comber, and the high steward of Wokingham Lucy Zeal were at Hannah’s Collation and Induction Service, as well as her ministry team, Revd Colin James and Revd Becky Medlicott.
Hannah and her family have only recently moved into the rectory, and are enjoying exploring the house and garden.
“We’re still in the process of unpacking boxes,” she said, “And the children are particularly loving the garden.
“We only had room for a small selection of potted plants at our last house, but the garden here is beautiful, and there is so much more space.”
Hannah suspects she may struggle to find time to keep the garden in tip top condition alongside her new duties as rector, and jokes about holding services among the shrubs, followed by volunteer gardening parties.
