Following a double home weekend last weekend the TSI Bracknell Bees return to home ice on Saturday night before putting in a road trip on Sunday.
Saturday’s opponents are the Peterborough Phantoms, a team we’ve already met both home and away this season. The Phantoms are coached by Slava Koulikov and he decided, over the summer, to announce the return of the 18/19 team to form his 19/20 roster for the National League.
Jordan Marr guards the pipes for the Phantoms with Ryan Bainborough filling the back up roll. The defence is both strong and experienced with the addition of Joe Gretton this season adding some youth to the back lines.
Up front is equally as similar to last season as the defence with the ever present James Ferrara, the club captain and Phantoms all time leading point scorer, joined by other long term Phantoms names.
Non EIHA trained player spots are taken by Petr Stepanek and Ales Padelek. 17 year old Ross Clark made his Phantoms debut last season, appearing in 6 games and returns to the line up for this season.
On Sunday the Bees travel to Romford and face the Raiders. Since the season started the Raiders have added Greg Blais to strengthen their netminding core and brought in Erik Piatak who made his Raiders debut last Sunday at the Hive.
Players to watch out for include Brandon Ayliffe, Aaron Connolly, Blahoslav Novak, Lukas Sladovsky and Dan Scott.
Bees Head Coach Doug Sheppard looks forward to the weekend; “We competed much better last weekend. We’ll be looking for consistency this weekend, putting together another two good performances.”
Bees play at home on Saturday night in a 6.15pm face-off. Tickets can be bought in advance on 01344 789000. Sunday’s road game in Romford is a 4.30pm face-off.
