Wokingham is set to mark June’s 80th anniversary of D-Day with a series of events.
David Dunham, Wokingham’s Poppy Appeal organiser, has revealed plans for the run up to Thursday, June 6.
There will be collection points throughout the town, named after the beaches involved in the landings..
The ‘beaches’ will be selling limited-edition pin badges and collecting for the Royal British Legion.
He also said a display of military vehicles will be held in Market Place, and the REME Room in the Town Hall will be open.
David is also searching for volunteers to help with collections on the day. He would also be keen to hear from anyone with artefacts and memorabilia from D-Day that could form part of the display on the day.
He can be contacted by email at [email protected].
