A well-known Wokingham businessman is embarking on his latest fundraising challenge next month.
Mark Ashwell, CEO of Trademark Windows, president of Wokingham & Emmbrook Football Club and a newly-elected borough councillor, is taking on the 24 peaks in 24 hours challenge.
Starting in the Cumbrian town of Keswick on June 4, the trek will encompass 24 tough peaks in the Lake District.
Mark, and his son Matt, will join others from the Conservatory Network in a bid to raise £12,000 to support the work of mental health charity MIND.
Last year the duo took part in the equally gruelling three peaks challenge, covering peaks in Scotland, England and Wales.
Mark, who has recently celebrated his 66th birthday, told Wokingham Today he has been warming up for the challenge with weekly walks around Crazies Hill, and around Box Hill in Surrey.
