A SELF advocacy group for people with learning disabilities in the borough is planning a month of fun and worthwhile events.
Members of CLASP are set to enjoy a wide range of activities including dancing, movie nights, fitness and singing.
And the group’s Clean-Up Crew will be out and about, tidying the borough Womble style, as a sponsored event.
Regular CLASP group sessions through February include: movie mates, coffee shop, dancing to music, and happy and healthy sessions at Wokingham Leisure Centre.
Members can also take part in craft club, evening drop-In at Sedero Lounge, active sessions, take notice, puzzle club, choir, and board games club at Wokingham Library
They and other local adults with learning disabilities, are welcome to join disabled swim sessions held at Wokingham Leisure Centre.
The organisation’s campaigning group, Take Notice, also continues to encourage the voices of those with a learning disability in the community to be heard.
This month they will hear from Citizens Advice and Wokingham Borough Council to discuss their new transport plan.
Disabled swim sessions are at Wokingham Leisure Centre, on Mondays and Fridays from 1pm until 3pm.
These are at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre, on Tuesdays, from 11am until noon, and at Bulmershe Leisure Centre, on Wednesdays from 1pm until 2pm.
Tickets cost £1.70, and carers go free.
Residents can look out for the group’s clean up team doing their bit for the community, on Friday, February 16.
