Wokingham Borough Council has said it is acting to address concerns surrounding rubbish at a hotel used for housing refugees and asylum seekers.
Several residents contacted the council to highlight the issue at the former Double Tree by Hilton hotel in Sindlesham.
One also told Wokingham Today: “The area around the hotel is in a terrible state with regards to rubbish, and it looks like the residents are throwing rubbish out of the windows which is also ending up in the river.”
A spokesperson for Wokingham Borough Council confirmed it was aware of the complaints.
“We have received a complaint about rubbish at the property, and we are working with the manager to ensure it is cleared.
“This is the normal process we go through when receiving complaints about private commercial properties.”
