A BOROUGH music group’s spring concert programme has been inspired by works of art.
Crowthorne Symphony Orchestra (CSO) will be performing a variety of music, with a special appearance from solo violinist Elizaveta Tyun.
Vaughan Williams, Ruth Gipps, and Beethoven, can all be heard at the group’s next event.
Vaughan Williams’ Job, A Masque For Dancing, was originally a ballet inspired by Blake’s illustrations for the Book of Job.
Ruth Gipps’ Knight In Armour, is based on the story in Rembrandt’s painting, The Young Warrior.
Both works are seldom played and will be a rare opportunity for audience and orchestra to enjoy.
Elizaveta Tyun will perform Beethoven’s Violin Concerto.
Born in St Petersburg, she studied at London’s Royal College and Royal Academy of Music, and last year joined the first violins in the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ms Tyun has a loyal following after previous performances of Britten, Tchaikovsky and Bruch concertos, with the orchestra.
CSO’s November concert was sold out, and the group expects high demand for tickets.
The event takes place at All Saints Church, Wokingham, on Saturday March 23, at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £15, or free for 18s and under.
