ORGANISERS of Wokingham Fireworks has a question for the borough’s primary school children: ‘What do you think fireworks night is all about?’
Youngsters are invited to reply by firing up their imaginations to enter a drawing competition.
The winner will head the Firework Night procession from Market Place alongside the Wokingham Town and Borough Mayors to Cantley Park.
They will also lead the countdown to start the display, and can enjoy free entry to the event for themselves and their immediate family.
Tickets for the popular event, which attracts thousands of visitors, are now on sale.
They are only available online, and none will be sold on the gate.
Last year, organisers say tickets sold out well in advance of the event, and the advice is to buy them now to avoid disappointment.
The Wokingham Fireworks display will take place in Cantley Field, on Saturday, November 2, at 7.30pm, following a torchlit procession from Wokingham town centre, starting at 6.15pm.
A funfair will operate at Cantley Field from 5.30pm the same day.
The closing date for children’s drawing competition entries is Monday, October 21.
Full details are on the entry form, with one entry per child allowed.
All entries will be displayed on the Wokingham Fireworks Facebook page.
