RATHER than throwing broken household items away, Earley residents are invited to bring them to a borough repair cafe to be mended.
Earley Repair Cafe, set up by Earley Town Council, is available to fix domestic appliances, bikes, clothes, tools, laptops, clocks, suitcases, bags, and toys.
Repairs are carried out for free, but donations to help cover running costs are gratefully received, and the group is always keen to hear from volunteers willing to help as repairers, receptionists and servers.
The cafe is open the morning of the second Sunday of each month at Centrepoint Community Centre next to Lower Earley Library.
The next event will take place on Sunday, February 9, from 10am until 1pm.
