WOODLEY residents are encouraged to spot the missing letter in a Christmas tree trail this winter.
Now in its second year, the Christmas tree trail includes 25 trees around Woodley, each with a letter of the alphabet on them. Except there’s one letter missing.
Residents are encouraged to complete the trail map to identify the missing letter. There will even be a letter on the big tree in Woodley precinct.
One winning map will be drawn on Saturday, January 10, with the winner receiving a prize of £25.
Organised by Beechwood Primary School PTA, the event will raise funds for the school.
Kelly Odell, Chair of the PTA said: “We’re always looking for new ideas to raise money, so instead of just asking the parents, we’re getting involved with the Woodley community.
Last year, the trail ran for two weeks, but due to its success, will be running for four weeks this Christmas.
“We’re hoping to raise about £500 for the school,” added Ms Odell. “Each tree has been allocated in and around town.
“The map includes each tree location, but they won’t be able to work out the missing letter without seeing them all.”
Many of the trees will be located in businesses in and around the centre of Woodley.
When the tree-hunters submit their maps, they can also nominate the best Christmas tree, with the winning owner also receiving £25.
Maps cost £2 and can be bought from Woodley News and Woodley Pets.
The trail will start on Saturday 7th December and will run until Saturday 4th January 2020.
