The sound of silence filled Charvil Village Hall on the afternoon of Friday, November 25, when 64 players gathered for a Bridge Drive and tea held by the Inner Wheel Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh.
More than £1,000 was raised for The Cowshed, a Hurst-based charity which provides support to people and children of all backgrounds in times of crisis.
This is a special year for Inner Wheel, which was founded in the UK and is now a worldwide organisation, as it is celebrating its centenary.
The Inner Wheel Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh meets at Sonning Golf Club on the third Thursday evening of every month and welcomes new members to join in the fun, take part in activities, raise funds for charity and support the local community.
