A WOODLEY charity made the most of the great weather last week by holding a cake and bric-a-brac sale under the new pagoda.
Me2 Club, which is based in Headley Road, set up stall under the shady feature on Tuesday, June 20, selling toys, books, knick-knacks and cakes to shoppers in the precinct.
The Mayor of Woodley, Cllr Jenny Cheng stopped by to lend a hand with selling, and the charity managed to raise an impressive £735 throughout the day.
The charity helps children and young people with additional needs integrate into mainstream activities through the support of trained volunteers.
Fundraising development officer Liz McDaniel said: “We would like to thank Woodley Town Mayor, Cllr Jenny Cheng, Easthampstead Rotary Club, Asda’s Community Life Champion Natalie Lambden; Morrisons’ Community Champion Jayne Allen; Mr and Mrs Curtis for running our raffle, and to Siobhan Davis and all our parents, trustees and staff for their amazing cake donations.
“And, of course, we would like to thank everyone who supported us on such a scorching hot day.”
