Has Banksy returned to Reading for a third time?
Earlier this month, the famous street artist painted a mural onto the exterior walls of Reading Gaol, thrilling art lovers and campaigners pushing for the site to be turned into an arts centre.
But last week, vandals struck. The artwork was defaced and a tag stating ‘Team Robbo’ appeared.
This was a reference to a rival street artist that had a long-running feud with Banksy. However, King Robbo died in 2014 at the age of 44.
Last week, a typewriter artwork was stenciled on to Reading Bridge. It is similar, although not identical, to the one on Reading Gaol.
This too was defaced over the weekend with a Team Robbo tag.

Overnight it has been painted over with a picture of a child, who appears to have lions’ paws instead of hands.
Next to it are the words cherish, love and hope.
The style is very similar to Banksy, leading to speculation that the street artist has returned to the town.
