A CHURCH service for World Day of Prayer will be held in Wokingham.
The ecumenical service is celebrated annually in over 170 countries, and this year has been prepared by Christian women from Nigeria.
It focuses in 2026 on the Bible verse, ‘I will give you rest, come’, which comes from Matthew 11:28–30.
It will be accompanied by stories of faith amidst challenges like poverty, oppression, and persecution.
The women-led movement takes place each year on the first Friday of March.
in Wokingham this year it will be presented by the town’s combined churches at All Saints Church, on Friday, March 6, at 10am.
