Reading FC’s have been dealt an injury blow after it was confirmed that midfielder Ben Elliott has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025/26 season due to injury.
Manager Leam Richardson confirmed the setback ahead of Saturday’s League One clash as the Royals look to continue their impressive form in search of breaking into the top six.
Elliott, 23, had shown great promise during his early days with the club since arriving from Chelsea in August 2023. However, injuries and a lack of consistency have seen him fall down the pecking order. He has played just 495 minutes of football in League One this season and has now been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after picking up an injury in training.
He had been used much more regularly last season where he racked up 19 league appearances and scored two goals and registered four assists as the Royals narrowly missed out on a play-off place.
It is likely that he has now played his last game for the club with the player set to be a free agent this summer when his contract with Reading expires.
