Reading FC have been drawn to play League Two Stevenage at home in the Carabao Cup first-round.
The Royals learned of their Championship fixtures for the 2022/23 season earlier in the day. They face an away trip to Blackpool on the opening day on Saturday, July 30.
The first-round ties are scheduled to take place on the week commencing August 8.
Reading went out of the Carabao Cup last season in the first-round after they were thumped 3-0 by Swansea City at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
The Royals will host the League Two outfit Stevenage who narrowly avoided relegation to the National League last season.
The Boro finished in 21st place on 47 points with 11 wins, 14 draws and 21 defeats.
Reading have only played Stevenage four times in their history. All of their meeting have come in the FA Cup, where the Royals have won two, lost one and drawn one.
They last met in 2018 in the FA Cup when the teams drew 0-0 at Stevenage before Reading progressed in the replay with a 3-0 win at the Madejski with a hat-trick from Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.
