A HEAVEN Sent Ball, organised by Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, will take place in May.
Described as a ‘right royal event’, and ‘an unforgettable night of glitz and glamour’ the ball will be held in the regal surroundings of the De Vere Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor.
The annual extravagant black-tie event promises to be an evening of sparkling entertainment filled with elegance.
And, say organisers, guests will have the joy of knowing that they will be supporting a meaningful cause.
Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service is a Berkshire charity providing specialist care and vital support to babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families, across Berkshire, South Bucks, and surrounding counties.
The charity’s CEO and Founder Fiona Devine MBE said: “The ball is a very special event to us, and this year it promises to be fabulous once again.
“It’s a chance for friends, family, and colleagues to come together for a truly magical night.”
The evening will commence with a champagne reception followed by a three-course meal and live music and entertainment to keep people dancing through the night.
There will also be a royal raffle and exciting live auction hosted by Thomas Forrester from BBC Bargain Hunt, and Neil Shuttleworth from Special Auction Services.
And the event will include many ‘money can’t buy’ experiences and wonderful prizes, say organisers.
Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service service is free of charge for families, but this financial year it will cost £3 million just to maintain the current level of care.
With very minimal government funding, the charity is almost entirely reliant on donations, fundraising, and gifts in wills to meet the costs of running its service.
The hospice currently supports more than 200 children and their families but is committed to growing its service and reaching out to every child and family that needs it.
In Berkshire alone, it says, there are an estimated 1,371 children with life-limiting conditions, an research shows that this number will increase by at least a further 11% by 2030.
The charity was founded by John and Fiona Devine in memory of their son Alexander who died of a rare brain tumour in 2006 at the age of eight.
Their personal experience led them to realise a desperate need for a local children’s hospice facility and service.
Their Heaven Sent Ball will take place at the De Vere Beaumont Estate, Old Windsor, on Friday May 2, with doors opening at 6pm.
