PUPILS at a Wokingham primary school took part in a colourful event after their sports day this year.
St Teresa’s Catholic Academy held a School Colour Run in King George’s Field, Wokingham, to raise money for new computers that will enhance the children’s learning experience.
The whole school community gathered on the field to witness the brightly coloured race, which organisers hoped would raise £5,000.
It was enjoyed enormously by the 200 children who took part, and exceeded the school’s fundraising expectations.
Deputy Headteacher, Paris Finnegan, said: “It was a truly wonderful event, full of energy, laughter and community spirit.
“And we’re thrilled to announce that we have raised a fantastic total of £6,800 which will go directly towards upgrading our much needed ICT equipment.
“These funds will allow us to give our children the tools they need to thrive in today’s digital world.
“We’re very grateful to our amazing school association, which organised and hosted the event, and for everybody who donated, making this wonderful achievement possible.”
