Tickets go on sale this morning for one of Wokingham’s most popular events.
Wokingham town council has again partnered with Eclectic Games of Reading to hold another tabletop takeover event, which will take place on Saturday, November 1.
If you are a novice or are already a fan of board gaming, there will be something for all. You can come as a group, come as a couple or come on your own.
The event is a great social occasion to meet like-minded people, and there will be a selection of easy to pick up but very re-playable modern board games running all day. This event is perfect for adults and over-10’s, with a few games suited to slightly younger siblings.
Professional demonstrators will teach you all you need to know to learn and enjoy these fantastic modern board games.
All ticket holders will be sent a timetable to select in advance any specific games they wish to play.
Wokingham town council is continuing to offer Dungeons & Dragons taster sessions, although this year it is making them a little longer to ensure a better experience for players which will affect availability.
It is also continuing with the introduction to Blood on the Clocktower sessions. Blood on the Clocktower is a social deduction game that shares some similarities with the popular BBC programme The Traitors.
Both are more suitable for older teens and adults.
Book your tickets from 8am today (Wednesday). Tickets are £4 per adult and £3 for under-18’s, for each half-day session. Early bird discount on tickets are available until until October 12.
After booking, sign up to your must-play games on the sign-up sheet.
Cllr Barrie Callender, chair of Arts and Culture, said: “Board gaming does not just mean Monopoly or Trivial Pursuit.
“As fun as they are, there’s a whole new world of games out there for both adults and children, and Eclectic Games, our partners at this event, know them all.
“Come along and try some out. We’ve games that require strategic thinking, others that are light and fun, some that require you to work as a team or simply a race to
the finish.
“It’s a great day and with Christmas coming up, it’s the perfect chance to try before you buy.”
