A SOCIAL group of Catholic men marked their 500th meeting with ‘merriment and mission’.
The Wokingham Catenian Circle celebrated with a blend of solemn reflection,
productive business, and warm fellowship, highlighting the enduring spirit of the Circle.
A Mass of Thanksgiving at Corpus Christi Church in Wokingham set a thoughtful tone for the event that followed.
“It was a jovial and enjoyable evening, as always in the Wokingham Circle, and we were delighted to officially welcome new member, Brother Diego, bringing our total membership to 66,” said Wokingham Catenian Circle president Stefan Dahmann.
After the service, members and visitors then gathered for a meal together.
“We enjoyed excellent food and great conversation, a chance to connect and strengthen friendships,” he added.
A series of post dinner speeches captured the essence of Catenianism.

Catenian of 40 years David Lumsden talked about his Wokingham Circle journey and how things have changed over recent years, and current GBNC national association president Gerry McCormack spoke about how to move forward during his presidency and beyond.
During the event £380 was raised for Wokingham Catenian president Stefan Dahmann’s chosen charity Corpus Christi Africa Fund (CCAF), meaning that during his first two months of leadership he has already raised £1,200.
“I was so impressed by the overall number of visitors and grateful for the support from out-of-province Circles,” he said.
“Here’s to the next 500 meetings.”
