MEMBERS of a borough film club will be taken via the screen to the wild and beautiful Orkney Islands.
Wokingham Film Society will screen The Outrun (15), starring Saoirse Ronan as Rona, fresh out of rehab and returned to the Orkney Islands off the Scottish coast.
After more than a decade of living life on the edge in London, where she both found and lost love, Rona – now 30 – attempts to come to terms with her troubled past.
As she reconnects with the dramatic landscape where she grew up, memories of her traumatic childhood merge with more recent challenging events that have set her on the path to recovery.
The Outrun can be seen at The Whitty Theatre, Luckley Road, on Thursday, March 6.
Doors open at 6.45pm, with the film starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £4 for members, and £6.50 for non-members.
