A STRONG set of results is how The Forest School’s headteacher describes this year’s GCSEs.
The Year 11 student achievement has improved by at least half a grade compared to the 2019 standards, the first since covid disrupted learning.
The Forest team said they were pleased to see a number of students obtain the highest grades possible, including grade 9s in humanities, computer science, English and sciences.
The results were above the national standards for maths, computer science, photography, English and religious studies, and at least two-thirds achieved a strong pass in English and maths.
Headteacher Shirley Austin wanted to congratulate students, staff and families.
“These results are a strong starting point for those joining Forest sixth form for A-levels next month.
“Their determination and aspiration to succeed this summer has paid off, and will enable the excellence the school expects in years 12 and 13.
“The boys really have lived up to the ‘Aspire to become Elite,’ having matched their sporting excellence in winning the Elite National Cup for the second consecutive year – the only school in the history of the cup to win twice – and now their academics.”
She continued: “There is simply no stopping The Forest now as records continue to be broken with girls joining in year 7 from 2024. We may well be welcoming a future Lionesses.
“I am so privileged and proud to be headteacher of this amazing school.
