Family-owned brewer and pub company, Hall & Woodhouse, which owns Peacock Farm in Jennetts Park, Bracknell, and Hall and Woodhouse in Crowthorne, has been recognised as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work in the ‘Big Organisations’ list.
This year is the third year running that the company, soon to celebrate its 250th anniversary, has received this national recognition as one of the country’s best employers.
The awards celebrate top UK companies that deliver employee satisfaction and workplace excellence. Results for the awards are collated through team members completing survey questions, measuring employee experience, reward and recognition, job satisfaction, and wellbeing.
The Sunday Times commended Hall & Woodhouse for paying a living wage, offering apprenticeships and training to a diverse team, including care leavers, ex-offenders and young carers. Company benefits, including profit share, bonus schemes, and a beer allowance, have also been championed.
Dean Livesey, director of great place to work at Hall & Woodhouse, said: “We are bursting with pride to be announced as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work for the third year running.
“As a values-led business, our team is central to everything we do, and we continuously look for new and innovative ways to become an even better employer.
“Last summer, we took more than 800 of our team members to Dummer Down Farm in Hampshire for our Big Day Out.
“It was the first time in our 249-year history that we closed nearly all of our managed pubs for the day to allow our team to celebrate the year’s successes collectively with live music, fair rides, and great food and drink.
“The Big Day Out initiative is just one of the many ways that we show our team what an important role they play in the Hall & Woodhouse family.
“It is critical that our team feel valued and this Sunday Times recognition verifies we have achieved this aim.
“We will continue to invest in our team, as it is imperative to us that Hall & Woodhouse remains a great place to work for future generations.”
Hall & Woodhouse is a family-owned company that has about.150 pubs across the south.
The independent business also brews award-winning Badger Ales and Outland Beers at its brewery in Blandford, Dorset.
Hall & Woodhouse will celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2027.
