WOKINGHAM’s 5km/10km race returns to Dinton Pastures for the seventh time.
Organised by Barnes Fitness, this year it features an additional new Kids Fun Run.
The event is set to be a highlight of the first part of the year and will offer an opportunity for runners of all abilities and ages to take part.
As well as the usual 5km (one lap) and 10km (two laps) course, organisers are launching a new 2km Kids Fun Run, designed to encourage children to get involved.
It will offer a safe, multi-terrain experience for them, with an opportunity to earn a medal before the main races begin.
“We are so excited to bring the Wokingham 5km and 10km back after our break in 2025,” says Ellie Barnes, founder of Barnes Fitness.
“Dinton Pastures is a beautiful venue regardless of the weather, and with the addition of the 2km Kids Fun Run, we truly have something for the whole family to enjoy.”
The route’s flat course makes it accessible for beginners who are looking for an introduction to racing, as well as seasoned runners looking to set a fast time.
The run will also feature lake views and local wildlife.
The event will take place at Dinton Pastures Country Park, Winnersh on Sunday, February 8.
Registration on the day, opens at 9am, with the Kids Fun Run starting at 10.30am, and the 5km and 10km races beginning at 10.30am.
Finishers will receive a high-quality metal medal.
To reduce single-use plastic, runners are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles.
Entries for the event are now open and are expected to sell out quickly.
Registration costs £7 for the Kids Fun Run, £25 for the 5km, and £27 for the 10km.
