A FLAUTIST and ex Welsh Guards Musician is preparing to play carols back-to-back in December to raise money for two borough churches.
Peter Lewis will play his flute at a 24 hour carol concert to support St Mary’s Church, Winnersh, and St Catherine’s Church, Sindlesham, both of which are in need of urgent repairs.
No stranger to musical endurance, Peter has twice before organised similar extended carol events.
“People can come along, listen to the music, or make requests,” he said.
“And they can feel free to sing along, wrap presents, write Christmas cards, and join in if they are musicians.”
Peter says that if he has the music, it will be played, and that the main point of the event is to have fun.
There is no need to book, and people can just turn up.
The event will take place at St Mary’s Church, Winnersh, on Friday, December 13 and Saturday, December 14.
It will begin on the Friday at 7.30pm, continuing through the night until the next afternoon, at 2pm.
Then after a few hours’ break, the music will continue on the Saturday from 6pm until 11.30pm.
Peter invites people to visit his JustGiving page if they would like to contribute, at: www.tinyurl.com/2u4742tf
