BINFIELD manager Roger Herridge feels the Hellenic Premier Division title may already be sewn up.
Highworth Town lead the way with 13 wins from 13 so far and are four points clear of the chasing pack with a number of games in hand.
And the Moles boss believes they are too good to be halted, even at this early stage in the season.
“No (I don’t think they’ll be stopped),” he told The Wokingham Paper.
“I just think the sides around them are beating each other.
“Thatcham, Bracknell, Wantage and Flackwell Heath are playing for second place.
“If I was Highworth, I’d be making sure my ground was fit to get promoted!
“There’s some good sides in the league, I’m not knocking the other four, but they’re playing for second place in my eyes.
“I know things can change quickly and there’s an awful long way to go, but I can’t see anyone stopping Highworth.”
Binfield are eighth in the table after extending their unbeaten league run to seven matches with a 2-2 draw against Tuffley Rovers on Saturday.
And the Moles boss admits it has been a tricky campaign with the amount of changes he constantly has to make to his side.
“The injuries are a pain,” he said.
“Certainly over the last couple of seasons we’ve had our fair share.
“It would be nice to have a consistent squad and put out consistent teams.
“It’s an ever-changing defence really. We haven’t had a settled back four.”
He added: “We’re unbeaten at home and we want to keep that run going for as long as possible.
“We’re certainly looking above us in the table to try and pick a few teams off rather than looking below us at the minute.”
“You win two or three games on the trot and you end up climbing five or six places in the table and if you lose two or three games on the trot you end up dropping five or six places down the table.
“That’s the way it is.”
