Rehearsals are well under way for Twyford Drama’s upcoming pantomime Aladdin, which will be staged in January at Loddon Hall.
Cast members playing the principal roles are continuing to refine their performances, while the chorus of dancers and singers has been rehearsing choreography and songs under the direction of choreographer Crissie Field.
Behind the scenes, work on the set is nearing completion under the supervision of stage manager Bill Evans. The build has involved complex scenery construction and extensive painting by a team of volunteer set builders and artists.
Costume preparations are also progressing, with wardrobe team members Hazel Evans and Marilyn McClelland adjusting existing outfits and creating new costumes to help deliver the colourful spectacle associated with traditional pantomime.
Music and sound design are being led by James Field, who is producing both musical numbers and sound effects for the show. Meanwhile, lighting designers Ollie Heath and Paul Robinson are planning lighting to enhance the atmosphere and action on stage.
Twyford Drama said the production reflects the efforts of a large team of volunteers, both on stage and backstage, working together to bring the pantomime to life.
The group described the show as a celebration of community theatre and a fitting way to mark the start of 2026.
Aladdin will be performed at Loddon Hall on Friday 16 January at 19:45, Saturday 17 January at 14:00 and 19:00, and Sunday 18 January at 14:00.
Twyford Drama said audience support plays a vital role in enabling the group to continue producing community theatre.
