BRACKNELL teams are getting ready for a run that will start and finish in the town centre.
The Lexicon Bracknell Half Marathon is sponsored for the ninth year by the Lexicon shopping centre.
The community-focused race – a much-loved tradition for 42 years – will see many runners looking to raise funds for charities close to their hearts as they participate in the event.
Team Lexicon’s own team of runners are:
Centre director at The LexiconTom Henderson, director of Cake Marketing AgencyGareth Slaughter, store manager for MOSS Amy Cunnington, duty manager at The Lexicon Muhammad Khalil, security operative at The Lexicon Nishan Shrestha, administrator at The Lexicon Olivia Mead, and director of ABM Soft Service ProvidersSteve Iles.
Tom Henderson, centre director at The Lexicon said: “As in previous years, we will be entering a team with the aim to raise £3,500 for The Lexicon Charity Fund.
“Since its inception, The Lexicon Charity Fund has helped more than 2,000 local people through sixteen local community groups and charities with donations totalling £60,000.
“This will be my second time running The Lexicon Half Marathon, so I know first-hand the huge motivation you gain, both for pre-training and the race itself, by running for local causes.”
The Lexicon Charity fund is managed in conjunction with Berkshire Community Foundation, an independent charity that connects local people with local causes and projects.
The Lexicon Bracknell Marathon will take place on Sunday, May 10.
It will start at Bond Square in the Lexicon Shopping Centre by the steps between M&S and Waitrose, from 8.45am.
