A FILM about the space race in the 1960s is the focus of the Wokingham Film Society’s first November screening.
Hidden Figures (PG) looks at the lives of three mathematicians who helped John Glenn into orbit and bring him back alive. Unusually, for the time, the trio of bright minds were black and female.
The film will be screened on Thursday, November 9.
And, on Thursday, November 16, there will be a special partnership with Wokingham Cycling Club to present The Flying Scotsman (15), a biography about Graeme Obree, a champion cyclist who built his bike from a washing machine.
Both films start at 7.30pm and will be screened at The Whitty Theatre in Luckley House School, Luckley Road.
